Sustainability Practitioner Programme

This is the 31st residential Sustainability Practitioner Programme delivered by CISL South Africa

Overview

The Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s executive education builds on Cambridge’s leading-edge capabilities, our unparalleled experience in education for sustainability and our commitment to help organisations in every sector improve their performance towards a sustainable future.

Through an interactive learning model, we help businesses thrive by addressing pressing social, economic and environmental challenges and focusing on successful leadership of change designed to help business reconcile profitability with sustainability.

Sustainability rests on a simple premise - the inter-connectedness of all things. It requires us to reframe our thinking by asking different questions. Sustainability is no longer simply a bolt-on to a ‘business-as-usual’ approach. It is something that must become deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations of an organisation.

Exit level Outcomes

  • Evaluate the impact of current global, economic, social and environmental pressures on their organisations.
  • Assess the importance of navigating complexity and system-thinking.
  • Recommend how to align sustainability with core organisational strategy.
  • Assess the opportunities for innovation and collaboration with key stakeholders in their context
  • Reflect on the values, thinking and practices that need to be developed to be an effective change agent
  • Construct a practical action plan (within their sphere of influence) to drive internal change

Preparation Material

In preparation for this online course, you are asked to undertake the following Essential Preparation. Specific sessions of the seminar will be based on the assumption that you have undertaken this preparation, and we will ask you to share insights and engage in group discussion based on the reading.
